Help make Basic Income a core election issue in Ontario this summer
Dear Friends,
As you are no doubt aware, Hamilton was one of the locations of the Ontario Basic Income Pilot. Despite repeatedly promising not to, one of the first things Doug Ford did after entering office was to cancel the program. Hamiltonians who were receiving a Basic Income had their lives turned upside down by this reversal, and the data that would have informed how to bring Basic Income to all Ontarians was lost.
During Ontario's upcoming June election, we need to put Basic Income front and center again.
Our colleagues at UBI Works are organizing a Zoom Meet-up for Basic Income supporters in Hamilton, as well as Thunder Bay, Lindsay, and Brant County – cities that were all part of the pilot.
