Teba, an Iraqi-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, draws inspiration from her upbringing across Iraq and the UAE, culminating in her immigration to Canada in 2013. Her latest work confronts the misrepresentations of Arab culture and Islam in media, reflecting her experiences with diaspora. Teba received her Bachelor's in Studio Arts with a minor in Political Science at McMaster University in 2021 and currently resides in Hamilton, ON. Her practice have ranged from drawing and painting to textile and media arts. Teba's work is inspired by pop culture, social discourse, nostalgia, and the mundane at times.
