Biography

Lana Button

 

Children’s Author Lana Button was born and raised in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. She has a background in acting and is an early childhood educator. Lana’s picture books have been shortlisted for awards including The Blue Spruce, The Shining Willow, the Jean Throop IODE Award and the Rainforest of Reading, and have been recognized by The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Globe and Mail. Lana’s books have been placed on several lists including Canadian Children’s Book Centre’s Best Books and the IBBY Outstanding Book for Young Children.

Lana has presented to thousands of children across Canada through school and festival presentations and loves to present to schools in the Hamilton area. She loves inspiring and supporting young children and encouraging empathy and understanding through her books.

In addition to writing and presenting, Lana volunteers for literary organizations including IBBY Canada, First Book Canada and CANSCAIP.
