Artist Statement
A never-ending voyage of self-discovery through the possibilities of the past.
As a young girl, I’ve always loved art and expressed my views through it, but as I grew up, I was entangled in the adult trap of educational degrees and corporate life. I completed my Masters in Actuarial Science and worked for 2 years but I felt lost, incomplete and unhappy. There was a never-ending feeling of missing out on what my purpose is as an individual, and if this is what I was meant to become.
I soon gave up my comfort zone, left my job completed my MA in drawing and Painting and willingly walked into the path of self-exploration I’m in today.
Over the years, there have been many challenges, rejections, experiences and regrets but they all accumulated and contributed to what I am today and my work. I have been lucky enough to have held many exhibitions and at the same time contributing to the art community by helping and educating art enthusiasts and teaching art to young students to help them expand their imagination.
My work depicts my thoughts, and my life and expresses my feelings.
My series, Illusion of Time depicts my deep thoughts of what could have been if I travelled back in time in multiple dimensions. Would it be any different? Would I be any different? It’s a big WHAT IF moment which I come across time and again, which ultimately led to my inspiration for this series.
And as a great artist once said “ Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art”
