Industry has been creating cultural projects in Hamilton since 2017. We are multi-age, multi-discipline artists, producers, and managers, whose careers in theatre, dance, and television, have taken us across Canada and the world. Industry strives to create community-based work that is relevant, connective, and innovative.

My Work

Co-production with artist Mark Preston. A video installation celebrating the resiliency of Hamilton artists during the COVID-19 pandemic. Featuring 15 local artists across disciplines, appearing in 8 businesses around Hamilton, and projected onto 3 buildings downtown, including City Hall.
The Garden Project, co-production with Porch Light Theatre. An annual funding initiative that commissions Hamilton-based IBPoC artists and their mentors to create work. 2021 marked the first Garden Party at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, an in-person event featuring presentations of the artists' work. Now entering its 3rd year, the 2022 Garden Project will be accepting applications DATE. See our website for details!
The Corona Diaries, a webseries documenting the lives of 7 artists around the world at the outset of COVID-19. Participants from Canada, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and England. This project has evolved into Fables For a New World, in which these same artists have been assigned the task of creating the first stories for a world wiped clean of history.
Switched, co-production with Theatre Panik. Originally scheduled to premiere at Theatre Aquarius in 2020, the pandemic transformed Anna Chatterton's dark comedy about family and identity into a radio play in three episodes.
Seven days of workshops, classes, and events designed to empower Hamilton artists to do the work they want to do.
The Safer Spaces Project, co-production with the Hamilton Fringe Festival. Project Director Robin Lacambra is leading a team of researchers and an intersectional steering committee through the creation and development of a set of care-centred guiding principles, or Internal Culture Guide (ICG). This ICG will work to ensure the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of everyone in Hamilton Fringe and Industry spaces.
