Elise Arsenault is a songwriter, emerging poet and nonfiction writer. She holds an MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of King's College (Halifax, NS), has independently released two EPS, and co-founded local songwriting collective Shaky Knees Club.

Her poetry has been published in Hamilton Arts & Letters Magazine, awarded by the Hamilton Short Works Prize, and her single "In the Velvet" merited the Word Guild's Terence L. Bingley Songwriting Award in 2020. Her music plays on local radio and television segments (CFMU, CHCH), and she gigs around town when she can.

Next year will mark a decade of Elise living, studying, and working on the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas that make up Hamilton. She really loves it here.
