Voluntary Self-Identification

The Arty Crowd funding sources require inclusion of members who identify as belonging to priority groups encompassing: Indigenous, ethnocultural communities, rural or remote residents, youth, and Francophones (english and french). Hamilton Arts Council further wants to measure its success in attracting members from all the diverse groups we serve in the Greater Hamilton Area arts community, including those who are LGBTQ2S+, and persons with disabilities. We will use the aggregates of the information collected here to measure our success in making The Arty Crowd an accessible and safe space for all who join. We thank the members of the committee from the Safer Spaces Project who advised us in creating an inclusive self-identification process.

Biography / Artistic Statement / Creative Vision

Cj Cruicks, the dynamic R&amp;B force and a gem of Canadian music. Once gracing the prestigious stage of Canadian Idol and captivating audiences across Toronto, Cj Cruicks, has solidified his place in the hearts of R&amp;B enthusiasts. Joining forces with Duane Chong of DKC Entertainment in 2005, CjCruicks has been unstoppable, gifting the world with his EP in 2006, his breakthrough album ‘At Last’ in 2008, and the chart-topping club single “Not Staying In” in 2009. His career, marked by performances alongside icons like Carl Henry, Ne-Yo, and Busta Rhymes, is a testament to his stellar artistry. Cj Cruicks’ collaborative spirit shines through in works with a host of talented artists and producers, both nationally and internationally, culminating in his explosive mixtape, ‘DEVASTATION’, in 2012. Today, as he crafts new melodies and has released two additional albums in the process as he broadens his horizons.
