Chris Perez is a Canadian based Filipino artist practicing in abstract painting and mural art. Perez's artwork is informed by the intersections of cultural identity and abstract language, using the aesthetics of floral motifs. Deriving his inspiration from an ordinary rice cooker, he references decorations found on the exterior of the cookers and interprets these motifs. Expressing himself through primarily spray paint allows Chris to use his body movements and expressive mark making to come through technique and composition.
