Chris Erskine was born in Hamilton and attended McMaster University, receiving a honours B.A. in political science in 1988. Largely self-taught, Chris studied part-time at the Dundas Valley School of Art between 1998 and 2001. His work ranges from portraits to urban landscapes, focusing on how place, memory, and history influence our interpretations of people and buildings. In 2019, Chris’s art was selected for a utility box wrap by the Hamilton Public Art Department and installed at the corner of Wilson and Ferguson Avenue North. CHCH also covered the utility piece in a news story dated Oct 8th, 2019. Chris is a member of Hamilton Artist Inc and Hamilton Art Council.
