[Hamilton, ON, January 19, 2023]-Earls Court Gallery is honoured to present a retrospective of Hamilton artist Paul Knowles (1945-2021) life’s work. The survey of Knowles paintings will open February 23, 2023.
A warm reception hosted by Janelle Knowles will take place Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 1 until 4 pm in Gallery. All are welcome to join. No reservation is needed.
“Paul Knowles: A Retrospective” will include over 30 artworks that cover a breath of his most captivating subject matters. Paul Knowles’ art exemplified his strengths in the use of light, shadow and geometric forms. These characteristics were integrated into his subject matters which were inspired by his everyday surroundings. Knowles was known to stop the car with camera in hand and capture a subject matter currently in progress in order to reflect on the image at a later date in his studio. Such subject matters included rural Canada, urban streetscapes, familiar everyday objects, architecture and figures performing leisure activities.
Join us on Saturday, February 25 at 1 pm for the celebration of “Paul Knowles: A Retrospective.”
“Paul Knowles: A Retrospective” exhibition can be viewed in person at 215 Ottawa Street North, Hamilton. Earls Court Gallery is open Tuesday – Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm. The paintings will be featured in the vast main gallery. All artworks will be featured online upon installation. Drop in and viewing appointments are welcomed.
