AA Free, one-day event at the Central Branch of the Hamilton Public Library featuring an Artists Alley, four panel presentations, and a screening of the 1983 Canadian Animation film "Rock and Rule" introduced by director Clive Smith with a panel discussion of the film featuring Clive Smith. It runs from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, June 8. Panels are as follows:
10:30 am Sandra Bell-Lundy and Graeme McKay in conversation about cartooning in newspapers, moderated by Leif Peng
11:30 am Joan Steacy discussing her graphic novel "Scrappy Jack" about growing up with her father in Waterdown, moderated by Joe Ollmann
12:30 pm Emmanuelle Chateauneuf and Meredith Park on the topic of "Queer Comics," moderated by Robin Fisher
1:30 pm Ho Che Anderson in conversation with Steve Bynoe about being black in the cartooning/comic industry
2:30 pm Screening of the 1983 Canadian animation film "Rock and Rule" which will be introduced by its director, Clive Smith, who will also stay for a panel talk about the film after the screening.
