Passionate about glass, Siobhán Lynch creates stained glass pieces that reflect her innate understanding of the interplay between glass and light. Capturing this ‘dance’ is the driving force behind her designs. By applying the discipline of the art form and playing with elements of texture, colour and pattern, her pieces evoke specific and individual moods.

My Work

Perpetual Motion A tribute to order and forward motion amber glass is associated with energy and teal with order and calm. The perpetual motion captured by this rose window moves us forward while providing a sense of grounding and peace.

Almanac - An interpretation of the nature based lunar calendar with a different tree representing each of the 13 lunar cycles in a year; Birch, Rowan, Alder, Willow, Ash, Hawthorn, Oak, Holly, Hazel, Vine, Ivy, Reed and Elder.

Shades and Scales - The centerpiece of this window and its colours were the inspiration for this piece. The unique piece is a blown glass orb with swirls of colour wrapping around itself. The complete design activates the movement of the colour, radiating out to the fish. Each fish represents a blending of the core. Green and Purple, Purple and Amber, Amber and Green. The tails of the fish mirror the two tones of each color. The focus of each fish is drawn to its origin.

Growing Hope - It explores contemporary themes alongside traditional. It is a fully integrated collaboration. Each “petal” has a circular central floral subject plant which is mosaic, fused or painted glass. One circle from each artist has a complimentary stained glass envelope. My sections has my signature knotwork. It is an exploration of the theme of harvest and rebirth.

Spinning Knot - Building off of previous work, including the design of the Celtic Mandala, this composition was inspired by a desire to convey a sense of movement.

Observer - This window has anchored the cross firmly on this plane as the crow gazes into the distance. The churning, whirling, movement of the air elicits the feeling of unknown boundaries and the momentous transition about to occur.

Red Between the Tides - This is a tribute to the journey that we follow in search of a soul place.

Swimming in the Rain - This piece reveals the world below, always in motion. Made with antique glass, this piece incorporates soothing grey and green tones to capture the clean cool feeling of swimming beneath the surface.
