My name is Sean Bienhaus, and I’m an independent singer/songwriter from Hamilton, Ontario.
As an artist my focus is on honesty, poetry, and storytelling. At my core, I am just a singer/songwriter. All my music starts that way, and all the music I make must be able to work in that simple of a context.
I’ve always loved music, but when the pandemic hit, I decided that life was too short and that it was time to dive in and try and make something of my own. Over the next year I created my first album "You Won't Ever Know" and released it in November of 2021. I had no idea how to make an album then, and so in 2022, I decided to go to college and learn how.
In 2023, I started to work as gigging musician, singing, and playing guitar across Southern Ontario. Through 2022-2023 I also had a live supporting band I called “The Satellites”. I love playing with a band, but for now I’ve put the emphasis back on myself, on the purity of the music and the simplicity. Everything I add can be wonderful and beautiful, but what matters most is that core.
I began to record and release music again in 2023, and continue to do so, slowly building up my catalogue. Although I’ve released an album before, I consider my current work to be a new stage in my career, and the first step in my proper career as an artist. My new EP “I Didn’t Know How to Leave”, is my best collection of songs yet, and I’m beyond proud to share them with the world.
