Laura Walker

  • Film and TV

Laura is an ALM / Locations Scout with the Directors Guild of Canada (The Handmaid’s Tale, Ruby & The Well, Star Trek Strange New Worlds). Laura started her career in film and television working at an award-winning documentary company (The Plague Monkeys, Northern Justice). It was that experience which led to sales and marketing for an international production company and attending major TV & Licensing markets in France and the US. Some key properties Laura supported included the animated titles Thomas the Tank Engine and The Raccoons, as well as David Rocco's Avventura. As the Administrator at the Factory Media Centre, she worked with and supported many Hamilton film and multimedia artists through workshops and exhibitions. She's worked on several local indie projects including BIKE and Simple Events and led business development for an emerging east-end studio space. Laura is a member of Lights Camera Hamilton, an NFP dedicated to growing film, television, and new media productions in Hamilton.
