My landscape works are based on plein air sketches and scraps of memories to work up mixed media pieces combining different elements such as paper, ink, old books and acrylic paint. She is influenced by where the water meets the land. The Canadian shield and wetlands are all of interest.
My abstract works explore impressions of under the sea. Using line, form, shape and a limited acrylic paint pallet, I build up layers of colour and pattern to create depth and movement. I hope to portray the human made tension in nature on the man made debris of shipwrecks and the rhythms of nature in a place few will ever go.
