Danny Smart is an emerging talent in the Southern Ontario music scene, bringing a fresh perspective and a passion for music to his work. Hailing from Barnsley, England, he took a chance visiting and moving to Hamilton for the first time in 2023 and is now head engineer at Halo Studios in Hamilton. Danny's recent foray into the industry has been marked by a remarkable ability to capture and the songs and stories of his own music and others.
Despite being relatively new to the field, his dedication and innovative approach have already garnered attention, leading to collaborations with established artists such as The Trews, The Glorious Sons, Coney Hatch and Envy of None, as well as producing local Hamilton bands.
In his own work, he takes inspiration from the world's best story tellers such as Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and others like them. Danny's recent work is a reflection of the unprecedented times we live in.
From his song News Feed which touches on topics of the constant divisions caused by the day to day information we all consume or in a similar vein, the song Reason To Live that takes a Dylan-esque approach to the lack of hope youth feel today in the powers that be. As well as these works there are other songs that are waiting to be released.
Danny's background as an artist is rooted in the foundation of story telling and there has never been a better time to story-tell and unite people through music than 2025.
