Sean McCormack is a Sculptor, Dancer, Educator, Maker and Entrepreneur based in Hamilton. He currently owns and operates Art Aggregate: a co-creating workshop in the East end, co-owns McCormack Timber Supply Co. and is a Professor at Sheridan College teaching 3D Design, Furniture, and Product Design. Sean sits on the Board of directors for the Hamilton Arts Council and previously served on the board for Factory Media Centre.
Early in his career, Sean served as the lead understudy for the National Dance of Company of Ireland and performed in over 45 countries, spending his off-time teaching at the Goggin-Carroll school of Traditional Irish Dance. Sean works predominantly in wood and plastics but occasionally creates in other materials like metal, textiles, and digital media. The majority of his portfolio is as a fabricator of large scale works for festivals, events, commercial spaces, and other artists. You may have previously interacted with his work at Winterfest, The Canadian Open, Pier 8, the Burlington Waterfront Sculpture Trail, and various galleries across North America.
Sean is an OCADU Sculpture & Installation Alumni and won the OCADU Alumni of Influence Trailblazer award for the Faculty of Art in 2019. He is a proud partner of the Canadian Society for Contemporary Iron Artists (CSCIA), The Toronto Rock lacrosse team, and supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities South Central Ontario.
