Handmade by local artist Kayla Twyne of Sweetgrass Sisters using seed beads, recycled black leather backing, and silver plated, hypoallergenic brass findings.
The Arty Crowd logo and colours were designed with the following in mind:
Orange is associated with meanings of joy, enthusiasm, creativity, success, change, determination, balance, freedom, expression, fascination, vibrancy, and flamboyance. In Indigenous tradition, orange shows a unified step toward reconciliation and building stronger relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
Purple symbolizes the Six Nations flag representing the unity that brought peace among the nations.
Black and yellow have come to be associated with Hamilton’s pride and spirit.
The various sized lines form a series of circles that represents the coming together of all the different communities and practices that are centric to arts in the Greater Hamilton Area, creating a sound wave reaching the province of Ontario and beyond.
