Hamilton Winter Solstice Festival is back!
Red Tree Artists' Collective is excited to be part of this fabulous event. Many people around the world celebrate festivals of lights during this time of year. The days get shorter until the shortest day and longest night on winter solstice. Every day that follows after December 21st, will get a little longer, and cultures from time immemorial have been celebrating the return of the sun and light. At this gloomy time of the year, artists and cultural workers brighten up the sky with lights and fire performances all over the northern hemisphere.
Performances of music, video projections, dance, movement and fire arts in Corktown Park include: Hamilton Aerial Group, Sounding Spaces with Sarah Good and Tony Vieira, Andrew O'Connor, Edgardo Moreno, Ingrid Mayrhofer, Beat Harmonica Samba, Sound Effect Crew, Billy Bones and Hot Carl, and Melanie Skene. Refreshments available from Reena Rampersad.
We are grateful for the support of the City of Hamilton, Ward 2 office, and the Corktown Neigbourhood Association.
