Do you enjoy repetitive techniques like knitting or crochet? Then you will love this handmade journey of fusing and forming to create a fine silver bracelet or choker with gemstone bead accents.
This ancient technique has many variations and you will learn how you, too, can become a master.
Etruscan chain making is an ancient technique known for its intricate and delicate craftsmanship. The Etruscans, who lived in what is now modern-day Italy from around 800 BCE to 100 BCE, were highly skilled in metalworking and jewelry making. Their techniques influenced Roman jewelry and continue to inspire modern jewelry design.
You will learn within a dynamic working jewellery studio and have the opportunity to continue to learn and grow as a metalsmith: amateur or professional.
All workshops are taught in Donna’s spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped studio in downtown Hamilton. You will learn by jumping in and beginning a project in the first session!
Workshop fee includes materials, step-by-step instructions for your project, on-line access to printable/downloadable information and an image slideshow. Please bring a dust mask, pencil, notebook, and a small container to store your projects.
This workshop is suitable for you if you have prior metalsmithing experience or have taken Exploring the Monad: Designing, Forming and Shaping Metal, or Play with Fire and Hammer like a Boss: Introduction to Jewellery Making and Metalsmithing.
