We Used to Feed the Swans - Zoe Pinnell

March 7 at 10:00 am - March 30 at 4:00 pm

Free

The Carnegie Gallery is pleased to present a new body of work by ceramicist, Zoe Pinnell in her first Carnegie Gallery solo exhibition. A recent graduate of Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Craft and Design program, Pinnell’s work consists of illustrated sculptural and functional hand-built objects that are decorated with colourful glazes, underglaze, and terra sigillata. Zoe is heavily influenced by historical patterns, tchotchke objects, and floral motifs, creating her patterns and illustrations from memories of what something may look like, but not entirely be. ‘We Used to Feed the Swans’ is a series themed around Zoe spending much of her childhood with her Nama, and the time they would spend observing creatures in the woods and walking past a pond where they would watch and feed the swans.
