With much anticipation, Earls Court Gallery is excited announce “The Light that Surrounds Us” exhibit featuring new paintings by Hamilton artist James Gummerson.
Gummerson states that this series is a “reflections on everyday life dramatized by the use of light. The meaning we give to light can be healing and restorative. How we perceive a moment can be deeply influenced by the atmosphere and its quality of light. Sometimes sunlight can warm us and invigorate us, and other times it makes us feel like pausing to reflect. Sometimes the lack of light or presence of dark can have a profound effect on how we see light as well. In times of hardship and pain we turn to the light and places that are familiar to us for solace. To help us remember that good things still exist. Everyday moments transformed by the light of lack thereof.”
