Red Dress Exhibit

31 May 2023 at 9:00 am - 8:00 pm

Free

Central Library, 1st Floor Living Room

A path of 21 red dresses, hung on wardrobe racks and bearing the stories of 12 victims is a symbolic representation of the all-too many Indigenous women and girls in Canada harmed by violence.

The Exhibit provides an opportunity for the Hamilton community to come together in reflection and solidarity to end the national crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ2S+ people.

A special ceremony will be held on Friday May 5, Noon-12:30pm, in honour of the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S).

A moment of silence will be observed at all Hamilton Public Library locations at 12:30pm.

Visit the exhibit during Central Library's open hours:

Mon-Thurs 9am-8pm
Fri 9am-6pm
Sat 9am-5pm
Sun 12pm-5pm
