Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Delgado has been recognized for his complex multi-media paintings since arriving in Hamilton. Using a combination of various printmaking techniques, hand drawn and painted elements, as well as appropriated printed materials including maps and blueprints, he weaves together layers of recognizable detail with spontaneous abstraction. Visually, the work often juxtaposes elements of control and chance. Contextually, the artist references his personal experience with migration, multiculturalism, and the politics of belonging.
