Earls Court Gallery is excited to present “Interpreting Landscapes” in Gallery starting June 23, 2022, showcasing new paintings by artists Victoria Pearce (Hamilton) and Carol Finkbeiner Thomas (London).
This dual exhibition featuring Victoria Pearce (Hamilton) and Carol Finkbeiner Thomas (London) contrast the artists’ different interpretations of how the Canadian landscape can be depicted with paint.
Victoria Pearce works with the land she knows best that being the Bruce trails showcasing Hamilton’s many waterfalls and the Canadian Shield near her cottage. She takes in the majestic views and filters them through colour theory and linear lines to create labyrinth like interpretations of these special locations.
Carol Finkbeiner Thomas plays with landscapes in her imagination to create paintings that often reminds us of a place, or the feeling of a place. Her paintings tend to depict landscapes that lie between abstraction and representational.
The paintings will be featured in the vast main gallery. All artworks will be featured online upon installation. Entry is free and family friendly.
“Interpreting Landscapes” exhibition can be viewed in person at 215 Ottawa Street North, Hamilton. Earls Court Gallery is open Tuesday – Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.
