Hamilton Artists Inc & Fringe Theatre are seeking to co-present our very first “Talent Show!” performance. Channelling the middle schooler in all of us, this event will cover various performance-art based artistic disciplines, and encourages the artists, queers, and weirdos amongst us to perform their (PG13) talents.
The Inc and Fringe have a shared love of fun, accessible, community focused programming, and the intention of this event is to demystify institutional spaces and create a performance venue that dismantles institutional exclusion.
The event will take place at Hamilton Artists Inc, with presentation formats varying from act to act. There will be 15-20 acts, all under 5 minutes. After which there will be open mingling with local music, food, and drinks, encouraging folks to stay and meet each other.
The event will be ticketed, with sliding scale tickets from $5-$20, and no one turned away for lack of funds. Our intention is to allow our different communities meaningful ways to engage with each other, build connections, and hopefully grow in a meaningful and fun way.
Additionally, we are hoping to partner with some of the local businesses on James St to foster some cross collaboration and hopefully create some mutually beneficial traffic for the wonderful local businesses that we neighbour!
