Open Heart Arts Theatre is thrilled to present Conversations Around the Table as part of Theatre Aquarius' BRAVE NEW WORKS FESTIVAL from June 16th-18th.
Born out of the Hamilton-based vision to use theatre and creativity as tools for social change, Conversations Around the Table is a multi-arts, site-specific performance created by and for people with lived experience of homelessness and addiction, with support from local professional artists. And we're inviting you to join the Conversation: How can we create the Hamilton we want to live in - together?
Location: Conversations takes place around the Theatre Aquarius building (190 King William St). Audiences are invited to meet outside of the Box Office doors at the North-West corner of the building to the right of the main entrance.
Come early and stay later!: We invite you to join us in advance of the performance, starting at 4:30pm, to participate in a community art-making activity. And join us after the performance for a community meal and discussion.
Tickets: Tickets are offered on a pay-what-you-can-afford basis. Your ticket fee goes right to supporting the artists who are creating and performing the show. Tickets are available online in advance as well as at the door. Priority for at-the-door tickets will be given to those with lived experience of homelessness.
This is an outdoor event that requires walking: Performances will go ahead rain-or-shine, unless deemed unsafe by Open Heart staff. We encourage you to dress for the weather. The performance requires some walking. If you have questions or may require accommodations to participate please get in touch with us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Conversations Around the Table is made possible with the support of Theatre Aquarius, the Hamilton City Enrichment Fund, the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts and the donors to the Conversations 2022 Kickstarter Campaign.
