The City of Hamilton is proud to present a new program this summer that will help bring live music back to our streets and public spaces. The Summer Concert Series features 10 free outdoor concerts with each concert hosted in a different location throughout the city.
On Saturday June 18 from 11:00am to 1:00pm join us for the first concert in the series at Ferguson Station (244 King St E, Hamilton) featuring performances by Rising Hedons and Riddim Riders.
11am Rising Hedons
Rising Hedons are Hamilton’s psychedelic world-music experience. The ensemble has been heralded as a genre-twisting, multicultural world-music event not to be missed and over the past 14 years have performed hundreds of concerts all over the world. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses soaring middle eastern clarinet, traditional Turkish rhythms, and the unpredictable soul of a Rock & Roll band. No dance floor is safe during Rising Hedons’ energetic live show. www.risinghedons.com
12pm Riddim Riders
Riddim Riders are a reggae band from Hamilton, Ontario Canada - the "steeltown reggae" sound. Riddim Riders play a modern roots reggae style that features creamy guitar licks, sweet vocals and backing harmonies, infectious keyboard hooks and dub effects. The band is particularly recognized for their tight live performances, solid arrangements, and message of upliftment, while also paying homage to the classic 'lovers rock' style with thoughtful lyrics and original flair. www.facebook.com/RiddimRidersReggae/
