The Hamilton Verse Showcase celebrates multiple seasons of creative work by young Black writers in the city of Hamilton. Hosted and moderated by Ainara Alleyne of Ainara’s Bookshelf, this event serves as the official launch of the novel Shattered Garden, written by the Writers Room cohort of 2022-2023: Fiona Jumu, Rami Naamna, Emanuel Ntwiga, Mohammed Mustapha Sheriff, Khadidja Taguina, and Sara Teklemichael. The showcase will include readings and a moderated artist panel featuring the writers of Shattered Garden and the 2021 Creation Camp archives.

The Shattered Garden book launch will be held on October 21st between 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Hamilton Room in the Hamilton Public Library (Central).
Shattered Garden is a high fantasy novel written by Hamilton students between the ages of 15-17 as part of The Writers room, a program run by Hamilton-Verse as we strive to develop the next generation of Hamilton's literary talent.
