The off-again, on-again drama behind Hamilton’s impending Light Rail Transit system has already had dramatic impacts on city housing and local economies years before any actual infrastructure has been installed. This Town Hall will focus on the complexities of these impacts, and in particular the role of local artists and the resonance and/or relevance of community art projects as a means to amplify and serve community interests during times of intense urban development.
Join Councillor Nrinder Nann, artist Ingrid Mayrhofer (whose current exhibition at the AGH deals directly on this subject), Koubra Haggar from the Hamilton Community Benefits Network, and other artists, activists, and community stakeholders, in this open discussion. Your input is needed!
