In August of 2021 a statue of Sir John A. MacDonald was pulled down in Hamilton's downtown; it was an action echoed across the continent and reflective of growing discomfort with colonial narratives and how they are situated in public space.
Speakers of Truth is an ongoing series of ‘kitchen table’ talks led by Indigenous activists, protectors and educators covering topics essential to Truth and Reconciliation; this month’s event will focus on monuments, monument removal, and the impacts of both.
