Dundas Valley School of Art is looking for an Afternoon/Evening Receptionist responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties, including greeting students, answering phones, handling basic inquiries and registrations, and dealing with sales of books, clay and art. While the position is primarily later afternoon and evenings, there are also some additional shifts for special events, vacation coverage, etc.

We're seeking to create a culture that closely matches the diversity of our community, and we encourage applicants from all backgrounds.

The role of the Receptionist includes:

  • Answering phones
  • Answering inquiries about DVSA and School programs
  • Greeting visitors/students
  • Scheduling models
  • Ensuring the reception area is organized
  • Taking registrations (phone) or troubleshooting registrations (online)
  • Co-ordinate mailings
  • Opening/Closing the facility
  • Performing basic bookkeeping and clerical duties
  • Taking and relaying messages
  • Scheduling volunteers
  • Other office duties as required

Required Skills

  • Must be comfortable working in a computerized workflow and have experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Customer service experience
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Problem solving skills
