Call for Submissions

DVSA invites applications from artists at various stages of their careers working in a variety of media, both individual artists and collectives are welcome to apply for a month-long art exhibition at the Dundas Valley School of Art Gallery.

Artists interested in submitting an exhibition proposal should submit the following information:

  • Artist statement (maximum 500 words)
  • Artist bio (maximum 150 words) Up to 10 images of your work
    • Digital images should be JPGs no larger than 3MB or a link to view on an external site
    • CV (maximum 3 pages, optional)
    • Additional support material such as video and/or audio may be included. Please provide links for viewing up to 15 minutes of material such as artist website, Vimeo or YouTube and include passwords if required

 

DVSA is committed to providing equitable access for all artists with particular emphasis on the following priority groups: BIPOC artists; 2SLGBTQIA+ artists; refugee, newcomer and immigrant artists; and artists living with disabilities.

Priority will be given to artists from equity-seeking communities. BIPOC artists; 2SLGBTQIA+ artists; refugee, newcomer and immigrant artists; and artists living with disabilities are all especially welcome to apply.

Submission Deadline:

All submissions must be received by 5pm EST on May 30th, 2024 for the Gallery Committee’s consideration.

Sales and Honoraria:

An honorarium will be paid to the artist(s), totaling the amount of $300. Artworks may be sold, at the discretion of the artist. When a sale is made, the artwork must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition. The artist will retain 80% of the sale price and DVSA will retain 20%.

 

Drop-In Session for Applicants

Tuesday, May 14th, 6:00-8:00pm

We welcome applicants to drop by during this time. DVSA staff and gallery committee members will be available in person to show applicants the gallery spaces and answer questions about the application process.
