The City of Mississauga (the “City”) and SOFTlab are seeking an emerging to mid-career artist to participate in a unique, paid public art mentorship.

As part of the development of Park 540 (505 Webb Drive, Mississauga, ON), the City has commissioned SOFTlab to create a permanent public artwork, funded by a voluntary contribution from Rogers Real Estate Development Limited. We’re seeking a talented artist to join us in this exciting mentorship opportunity.

About the Opportunity:

  • Mentorship with SOFTlab: Learn from the innovative New York City-based design studio led by Michael Szivos. SOFTlab combines cutting-edge technology, craft, and materials to blur the lines between art, architecture, and public spaces.
  • Hands-On Experience: Gain invaluable knowledge in designing site-specific public art, planning projects, and managing the fabrication, coordination, and installation processes.
  • Travel to New York City: Opportunity to use the provided budget to visit and work from SOFTlab’s dynamic NYC office.
  • Professional Growth: Enhance your public art skills and expand your network in the vibrant art scenes of both Mississauga and New York City.
