I am a proud Hamiltonian who holds several degrees, diplomas, and certifications, including a Master of Arts in Sociology from McMaster University. After working in the health care field for 17 years, I switched professions to pursue work in the co-operative housing sector as I firmly believe in the importance of housing. I am currently pursuing my Accredited Member of the Institute of Housing Management (AIHM) certification. As a big proponent of community engagement and education, I spend a great deal of time volunteering and instructing in the co-op housing sector.
I am also passionate about children and animals, and have been working on a passion project that combines the two. My first children's book, Frank the Fish Finds His Forever Home, launched in November 2021 and is centered around a plucky betta fish. There is an accompanying teacher's guide available and due to popular demand, this book will soon be available in French. Also, the second book, Frank the Fish Finds a Friend, is set to launch in 2022. There will be much more to follow in the book series including plushies, an activity book, and many more adventures of Frank the Fish. I believe kindness can change the world and, as such, a portion of all proceeds from every book will be donated to a non-profit charity supporting the theme of each book.
