On February 5, 2021, Cornelia Peckart and Nancy Benoy met up in Gage Park in Hamilton, Ontario. Nancy and Cornelia were at Gage Park to record audio for their parts in a virtual performance for Tuesday Choir and to plan a new project together. Sitting in the Bandshell, sipping hot chocolate, Art To Go Podcast successfully recorded its very first episode.

The podcast cohosts are active members of the Hamilton cultural community and work professionally as artists, educators and sometime performers. Together they have created a podcast that welcomes you to the table to listen in as they joyfully explore the culture their city has to offer. The podcast is meant to be spontaneous and runs between 15-30 minutes. The longer times are usually with artists we are interviewing, such as musician LT the Monk, award winning author Gary Barwin, designer and entrepreneur Dave Kuruc from Mixed Media/King West Books and Visual Artist Leslie Furness.

Art To Go has also visited Hamilton institutions such as the Art Gallery of Hamilton and Dundurn Castle. The podcast has assisted other artists through reviews of exhibitions such as the Pansy show at the Paul Elia Gallery and Corrine Duchesne’s exhibit at the Assembly Gallery in the Red Church Cafe. We have interviews planned with an event organizer in the LGBTQ+ community and poets who are part of YouPoets(formerly Youth Poets) and the Breaking the Vault exhibit at the Art Gallery of Hamilton.
