Voluntary Self-Identification

The Arty Crowd funding sources require inclusion of members who identify as belonging to priority groups encompassing: Indigenous, ethnocultural communities, rural or remote residents, youth, and Francophones (english and french). Hamilton Arts Council further wants to measure its success in attracting members from all the diverse groups we serve in the Greater Hamilton Area arts community, including those who are LGBTQ2S+, and persons with disabilities. We will use the aggregates of the information collected here to measure our success in making The Arty Crowd an accessible and safe space for all who join. We thank the members of the committee from the Safer Spaces Project who advised us in creating an inclusive self-identification process.

Biography / Artistic Statement / Creative Vision

Hello and good day,

My name is Andre L.A. Blissett I’m a 36 year old bipoc man and father of eight children all residing in Hamilton ON.

My mission is to help provide more work for Hamiltonian actors. I am a writer and producer of ACTRA projects as I believe operating with unions is important for the protection of people who are involved with film! I want to provide more new media from Hamilton using faces we see on the streets, our malls, our conferences and most importantly our locations. Having a deep love for television and movies has grown a deep appreciation of the art form which has led me to establish my own creativity bringing projects like “ Boyz to Dadz” and “Facetious” to life and helping change the lives of 19 actors so far! I wish to help bring more revenue to Hamilton through film!

My first project was shot in Hamilton and screened at the prestigious Scotia Bank Theatre, I filled 137 seats in 2 days making a beautiful experience for so many people, I want this for Hamilton!
